- How many games will each team play?:
WBSA will make every effort to give each team a minimum of 10 games, plus participation in the End of Season Tournament.- Can I register in-person?:
WBSA will offer select dates for in-person registration. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for when these dates will be.- Is 6U T-Ball or Coach Pitch?:
The 6U division is a modified t-ball division. Each player will get a set number of pitches from the coach at a distance of 25 feet, and if they do not successfully hit a fair ball they will get an additional swing from the tee.- Are girls allowed in baseball?:
While we encourage our female athletes to register for Softball, they are welcome to register for Baseball.- Is 8U Coach Pitch or Player Pitch?:
The 8U division is coach pitch. Coaches pitch from a distance of 38 feet. Each player receives six pitches (foul balls on the sixth pitch keep the at-bat alive) from the coach pitcher to hit a fair ball. Players can strike out on a third strike, swing and miss.- What kind of bats are allowed?:
WBSA is a PONY-sanctioned organization. All bats must bear the USA/ASA approved certification mark. For more information, visit https://usabat.com- Can my child play up a division?:
Yes. PONY allows for players to play up by one division. For example, if a player is league age 8, they are eligible for 8U and 10U, but not 12U.- Can my child play down a division?:
No. Even if a player has never played before, they are required to play in their minimum age-appropriate division.- Will we have to travel?:
In certain divisions, depending on registration numbers, there is a possibility of travel. It is WBSA's intention to have enough registered players in each division to make a full season here locally. In the event that there aren't enough teams made to guarantee a full season, we would then Inter-League with surrounding leagues.- Why are registration fees increasing?:
Unfortunately, WBSA can no longer continue to responsibly operate at the current fee rate. Between field maintenance, baseballs, umpire fees, utilities, etc., our costs have gone up significantly over the past few years. WBSA has left registration fees the same over the past several seasons, while surrounding organizations have increased theirs.
